Why does this stay in the browser?
This page is for images that already contain private material. Blur, pixelate, and black box run in your browser, so the file is not sent away to be cleaned. Use a black box for secrets that must not stay readable. Use blur or pixelate only after you have checked that the cover is enough.

What should you know before you export?
The image is processed locally, and export writes a new PNG. Blur is not the same cover as a black box. Paste works with Ctrl+V or Command-V. If your question is about a specific leak, such as a password, a face, or a sidebar, use the guides linked below before you send the file.
How strong is the blur effect?
The blur is strong enough to make text unreadable. If you need maximum certainty, use Black Box instead.
Can I blur specific words without affecting the rest?

The blur creates a smooth frosted-glass effect. It is clear that something is hidden while the rest of the image remains readable.
Can I blur multiple areas?

Does blurring reduce the image quality?
Only the selected area is affected. The rest of the screenshot remains at full quality. The downloaded PNG is lossless.
Can I blur the same area multiple times for a stronger effect?
One pass is usually enough. For absolute certainty, switch to Black Box mode which replaces the area with solid black.
