Why use this tool
Why does this stay in the browser?
This page is for images that already contain private material. Blur, pixelate, and black box run in your browser, so the file is not sent away to be cleaned. Use a black box for secrets that must not stay readable. Use blur or pixelate only after you have checked that the cover is enough.
Text in images is uniquely sensitive. A single screenshot can expose login credentials, email addresses, API keys, customer names, or confidential internal data.
Blurring text precisely lets you share the rest of the image without losing context. A bug report screenshot, a design mockup, or a data dashboard can still be useful while sensitive labels and values stay hidden.
The blur effect applied by this tool is strong enough to make text unreadable. It works on printed text, handwriting, numbers, and symbols against almost any background.

What should you know before you export?
The image is processed locally, and export writes a new PNG. Blur is not the same cover as a black box. Paste works with Ctrl+V or Command-V. If your question is about a specific leak, such as a password, a face, or a sidebar, use the guides linked below before you send the file.
Can I blur just one word or a specific line of text?
Yes. Drag a tight selection box around exactly the text you want to blur. The selection can be as small or large as you need.
Will the blurred text still be readable?
No. The blur is strong enough to make text unreadable. If you need even more certainty, use Black Box mode instead.
Does blurring text look natural in the image?
Yes. The blur creates a smooth, frosted-glass effect. The rest of the image stays sharp, so the result looks clean and professional.
Can I blur text in multiple locations at once?
Draw a new selection for each piece of text. Every drag adds a new blurred region and you can add as many as needed.
Does this work on screenshots from any app?

Can I blur a single character or number?
Yes. You can draw a very small selection around a single digit, letter, or symbol. Zoom in first for easier precision.
Does blurring text change the file size?
The downloaded PNG may be slightly different in size from the original, but the difference is usually minimal. The image dimensions and resolution are unchanged.
Can I blur text in a PDF?

What if the text is very small?
Zoom into your screen before taking a screenshot if you need more precision. Alternatively, zoom the page in your browser before uploading so the text appears larger in the image.
