Why use this tool
Made for sensitive material
Screenshots are one of the most common sources of accidental data leaks. A notification in the status bar, a browser tab showing a client name, or an app open in the background can reveal more than you intended.
Before sharing any screenshot in a support ticket, message, GitHub issue, or social post, it is worth spending a few seconds reviewing it for sensitive information. This tool makes that process fast.
It works on screenshots from any device and any application. Upload, blur, download, and share the safe version instead of the original.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Which apps can I take screenshots from?
Any app. This tool works on screenshots from browsers, chat apps, email clients, code editors, dashboards, terminals, and anything else on your screen.
Can I blur a password visible in a screenshot?
Yes. Draw a box over the password field or any visible credential. For maximum certainty, choose Black Box to completely cover the area.
What is the best blur style for screenshots?
Blur gives the most natural look. Black Box is the strongest visual redaction because it replaces the area with solid black pixels.
Does this work on mobile screenshots?
Yes. Open this page on your phone, upload a screenshot from your gallery, draw over the sensitive parts, and download the result.
Can I blur a notification visible in a screenshot?
Yes. Draw a selection over the notification banner or any area of the status bar that contains private information.
Should I blur before or after cropping?
Either order works. If you crop first, you may have less to blur. If you blur first, you can always crop after downloading.
Is the blur reversible in the downloaded image?
No. The blur is permanently applied in the downloaded PNG after export.
Can I blur a QR code in a screenshot to prevent scanning?
Yes. Draw a box over the QR code. Using Black Box mode is the safest option because it fully removes the pattern.
Can I share the blurred screenshot directly from the browser?
Download the blurred image first, then share it wherever you like: email, chat, a support ticket, or social media.
Does this work on full-page screenshots?
Yes. Full-page screenshots are just tall images and work the same way as any other image.
